Frequently asked questions
Is Nexportal a freight forwarder, or software?
Nexportal is an IT provider: the TMS/WMS software platform where you run dossiers, stock and customs declarations. We're not a forwarder — you run your own operation on the platform, with your own carriers and customs broker.
Does Nexportal work with my own carriers and customs broker?
Yes. You connect your own carrier contract rates and your own customs broker to the platform — Nexportal doesn't prescribe a specific partner. The TMS, WMS and customs module also work independently or as one integrated whole.
Which customs documents does Nexportal handle, beyond the standard import/export declaration?
Import and export declarations and T1 transit are part of the TMS/WMS platform itself. For EUR-1/EUR-MED, A.TR, ATA carnet, T2L/T2LF and health certificates (including AGRIM), your own broker — or our in-house broker, if you'd rather use ours — prepares and issues the document. Nexportal Relay then picks it up, submits it and ships it: an extended courier service with the on-the-ground knowledge of what each customs office needs — something most comparable TMS and WMS software doesn't offer at all.
Can the TMS or WMS module be taken separately?
Yes. Each module — sea, air, road, customs and warehousing — works standalone or as one integrated platform.
Can I offer Nexportal white-label to my own customers?
The team environment can be set up white-label today, with your own logo, branding and contact details, in an isolated environment per tenant. The white-label customer portal is in development.
