Rotterdam terminal surcharges explained: spreidingstoeslag & klimaattoeslag (ECT, RWG, Euromax)

Changed

If you move containers through Rotterdam by truck, two terminal surcharges increasingly show up: the spreidingstoeslag (spreading surcharge) and the klimaattoeslag (climate surcharge). The Rotterdam deep-sea terminals — ECT Delta, Euromax and RWG — apply comparable charges.

Climate surcharge (klimaattarief)

  • €2.50 per visiting truck at ECT Delta and Euromax.
  • Zero-emission vehicles are exempt.

Spreading surcharge (spreidingstoeslag) and premium

  • €13.50 per truck visiting on weekdays between 05:00 and 19:00 (peak window).
  • A spreidingspremie (rebate) of €4.50 per truck for visits at night and/or weekends.

How Nexportal handles it

Nexportal keeps transport pricing market-conforme: terminal surcharges are reflected transparently in the rate, and where it pays off we plan pick-up and delivery into off-peak windows.
